Medical Care, Unwanted Sexual Encounter Appointment

A specially trained nurse will meet with you and offer you options of care. What you decide is best for you, the nurse supports.

Have you had an unwanted sexual encounter or maybe you are not really sure what happened due to alcohol or other drugs?

DaneMAC provides post assault health care services at:
University Health Services OR Planned Parenthood SOUTH
Monday-Friday from 8:30 am to 4 pm.
There is NO cost to you. We don’t call the police.  Your records are confidential (not part of your student health record).

An unwanted sexual encounter can have a variety of short- and long-term effects.  A Forensic Nurse Examiner (FNE) can help guide you in healing and recovery, she has specialized training in trauma.
The nurse can help you with:
  • Testing for drugs
  • Testing for sexually transmitted infections
  • Medication to prevent sexually transmitted infection and pregnancy
  • Connections to community resources
  • A medical examination (make sure your body is healthy and ok)
  • Evidence collection (sometimes called a "rape kit")
  • Reporting what happened to the police (only if you want).  Medical professionals have to report for individuals 17 and younger.

You choose the best options for your healing process! We support you in whatever path you choose!
